Robertson Bell are proud to once again be working with this leading housing association in their search for a Group Accountant to join their high performing team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will lead a small team through various financial consolidation processes whilst driving a culture of efficiency and process improvements.

The key duties of this Group Accountant role are as follows:

  • Take the lead in the delivery of both the consolidated statutory reports and monthly management accounts for the Group.
  • Maintain tight budgetary control across all of the organisation’s entities and joint ventures.
  • Play a leading role in the preparation and review of VAT and corporation tax returns for the Group on a quarterly basis.
  • Manage, mentor and develop a team of two Accountants.
  • When necessary, deputise for the Head of Finance and act as the go to person for any group finance related matters.
  • Answer queries from the External Auditors at year end as required.

This permanent Senior Accountant role would suit a newly qualified Accountant who is now looking to step up in their finance career and secure a role that offers staff management responsibilities. The role would be based at the organisations head office in central London but hybrid working arrangements will be on offer.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Achieved their full accountancy qualification.
  • Previously led on the production of management and financial accounts.
  • Preferably, experience preparing consolidated accounts.
  • Ideally, a background working in the housing sector, but this is by no means essential.
  • Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills.
