Full-time & Part-time opportunities available

Hybrid

 £200–£250 pay via Umbrella

We’re looking for an experienced Service Charge Analyst to join a small and developing team and play a key role in completing and improving service charge accounts.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with financial data, reconciliations and service charges, and who is confident investigating discrepancies, identifying solutions and seeing work through to completion.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for reviewing and reconciling service charge accounts, ensuring costs are accurately allocated and balancing charges are correctly identified and recovered.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and reconciling service charge accounts.
  • Analysing and reapportioning costs in line with leases.
  • Identifying and correcting misallocations and accounting issues.
  • Investigating variances and carrying out detailed financial reconciliations.
  • Supporting the calculation and issue of accurate balancing charges.
  • Working with Finance and operational teams to validate costs, data and assumptions.
  • Identifying risks around income recovery, cost allocation and financial accuracy.
  • Supporting service charge audits and responding to audit queries.
  • Maintaining clear audit trails and supporting documentation.
  • Helping improve coding, cost allocation, reconciliation and data quality processes.
  • Supporting improvements to future service charge accounting periods.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience in financial analysis and reconciliations.
  • Experience investigating variances and resolving financial discrepancies.
  • Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills.
  • Experience with cost allocation and financial analysis.
  • Experience working with service charges within the housing sector.
  • Understanding of leasehold accounting and service charge requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to question and challenge information where appropriate.

Experience with MRI, Orchard Accounts or Open Accounts, and experience supporting financial audits, would be advantageous.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be analytical, practical and solutions-focused, with a strong eye for detail. You’ll enjoy investigating discrepancies, working with complex financial information and finding practical solutions.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who is hands-on, organised and willing to roll up your sleeves and take ownership to get the job done.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in completing outstanding service charge accounts while helping to improve processes and financial controls for the future.
