Business Analyst - Finance Transformation | 18-Month FTC

Are you an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in process improvement and organisational transformation? Do you enjoy getting under the skin of how a Finance function operates, identifying what is not working and designing practical improvements? Are you looking for an opportunity to play a key role in a major Finance Transformation Programme?

Robertson Bell are delighted to be partnering with a large, complex and nationally recognised organisation to recruit Business Analysts on 18-month fixed-term contracts.

These roles will form part of a significant Finance Transformation Programme focused on improving how Finance operates across the organisation. Rather than being purely technology-led positions, the focus will be on understanding existing processes, controls and ways of working, identifying opportunities for improvement and helping design a more effective future Finance function. Salvation Army Business Analyst

The key responsibilities of the Business Analyst include:

  • Working with Finance and operational stakeholders to understand business needs, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Leading workshops and interviews to gather requirements and understand current processes, pain points, controls and dependencies.
  • Mapping existing Finance processes and designing improved future-state processes.
  • Translating stakeholder requirements into clear documentation, recommendations, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Supporting the redesign and improvement of financial processes, reporting structures and the Chart of Accounts.
  • Reviewing processes to identify inefficiencies, root causes, risks and opportunities to simplify ways of working.
  • Ensuring appropriate controls, ownership, hand-offs and performance measures are incorporated into redesigned processes.
  • Using financial, operational and qualitative data to support recommendations and decision-making.
  • Working with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure proposed changes are practical and reflect how services operate in reality.
  • Supporting testing, implementation and the transition of redesigned processes into business as usual. Salvation Army Business Analyst

The successful candidate will:

  • Have significant Business Analyst experience within complex transformation or change programmes.
  • Demonstrate strong experience of process mapping, process redesign and future-state design.
  • Be experienced in requirements gathering, analysis, validation and prioritisation.
  • Ideally have worked within a Finance Transformation Programme or have strong knowledge of Finance functions and processes.
  • Understand how controls, governance, reporting and service delivery fit into Finance process design.
  • Be comfortable facilitating workshops and challenging existing ways of working.
  • Have strong analytical skills and be able to turn complex information into clear recommendations.
  • Be confident engaging stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams through to senior leadership.
  • Be comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities within a wider transformation programme. Salvation Army Business Analyst
