Finance Business Partner - Treasury & Planning

We are working with a well-established social housing organisation to recruit a Finance Business Partner – Treasury & Planning into a broad role covering treasury, business planning and development.

This is an opportunity for a finance professional with strong social housing experience to take ownership across a varied remit, supporting both the day-to-day financial management of the organisation and its longer-term financial planning.

Treasury will be a key part of the role, providing oversight of the loan portfolio, cashflow and treasury activity, alongside responsibility for relevant returns, stress testing, valuations and charging. You will work closely with the wider finance team, providing review and oversight while ensuring the organisation has the right financial information to support decision-making.

You will also lead on a range of business planning activity, including:

• Supporting the production and review of the 5-year budget and longer-term financial plans
• Contributing to the 30-year business plan and FFR process
• Producing quarterly forecasts and supporting mid-year and year-end planning
• Providing financial input into Board reporting and review
• Reviewing capital and non-capital expenditure
• Supporting development plans and individual development cashflows
• Working closely with development, lettings and operational teams as a finance business partner
• Supporting the ongoing development of systems and processes across finance

The organisation is also looking to streamline a number of existing manual processes and is introducing new systems, including greater use of BRIXX, providing an opportunity to play a key role in improving how financial planning and reporting are delivered.

About you

You will be an experienced finance professional with strong social housing experience, alongside a solid background in treasury and business planning.

You will ideally have:

• Strong treasury experience at a level where you have had genuine ownership or oversight of treasury activity and loan portfolios
• Experience across budgeting, forecasting and business planning
• Experience working within the social housing sector – this is essential
• A good understanding of housing finance and relevant regulatory returns
• Experience contributing to long-term financial planning and stress testing
• Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to work effectively with non-finance colleagues
• Experience of development finance and development cashflows would be advantageous
• Experience using BRIXX would be beneficial
• A relevant accounting qualification, part-qualification or equivalent experience

This could suit an experienced Finance Business Partner, Planning Manager, Treasury professional or Accountant looking to broaden their remit across treasury, planning and development.

Previous management experience would be beneficial, although this could also suit someone taking their first step into managing a small team.
