A broad senior finance role spanning property, commercial operations and a growing trading business within a highly respected purpose-led organisation.

We’re working with a well-established organisation looking for a Head of Finance (Property & Commercial) to take ownership of the financial management across a varied portfolio of properties, shared services and commercial activity. Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll work closely with senior property and operational leaders, providing the financial insight, challenge and support needed to make sound investment and operational decisions.

What makes this role particularly interesting is the breadth of what sits around it. You’ll be the finance lead across a portfolio that combines property operations, commercial tenants, shared services and a developing trading business, giving you exposure to decisions that go well beyond the numbers. It’s a role for someone who enjoys getting under the skin of how an organisation operates, building relationships with people outside finance and using their expertise to help shape what happens next.

What you’ll gain:

What you’ll do:

• Take ownership of the financial management and reporting across a diverse property portfolio, ensuring income, expenditure, forecasts and controls are well managed.

• Partner with property and operational teams on budgets, investment decisions, repairs, maintenance and longer-term financial planning.

• Lead the financial management of a trading subsidiary, including budgeting, reporting, audit, compliance and its relationship with the wider organisation.

• Oversee VAT, statutory reporting, audit activity and financial controls, ensuring the organisation remains compliant and well governed.

• Support major property projects, including funding, contracts, capital expenditure and longer-term asset planning.

• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and controls, making finance more effective for operational teams.

What you’ll bring:

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) with strong post-qualified experience.

• Experience across financial accounting, management accounting, reporting and financial controls.

• Some experience of property finance or supporting property/estates teams.

• A confident, clear communicator who can build strong relationships while knowing when to challenge, hold the line or escalate an issue.
