Programme Finance Accountant

Birmingham | 3 days office-based | Permanent | £35k to £40k

A hands-on programme finance role with international exposure, real ownership and the chance to support impactful work across a global organisation.

We’re working with a major international organisation looking for a Programme Finance Accountant to oversee the financial management of a portfolio of donor-funded projects. You’ll work closely with finance and programme teams to keep budgets, funding and reporting on track, while ensuring strong financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll do:

Oversee the financial management of an assigned portfolio of programmes and projects.
Monitor budgets, income, expenditure, cash flow and financial performance.
Review financial reports and ensure donor and organisational requirements are met.
Work closely with international finance teams, AP, AR and Treasury.
Support project set-up, billing, fund transfers and final reconciliations.
Maintain accurate records and ensure projects are audit-ready.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and data quality.

What you'll bring:

Finance experience, ideally with exposure to grants, projects or programme finance.
Degree-qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent.
Strong accounting, reconciliation and Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and confidence working with financial data.
