A well-established social housing provider is partnering with Robertson Bell to recruit an FP&A Manager on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to take ownership of the organisation’s long-term financial planning process and play a key role in strategic decision-making.

The role

You will lead the production and ongoing management of the organisation’s financial plan, working across the business to ensure accurate data and meaningful analysis underpin key decisions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the annual financial planning process and quarterly updates.
  • Maintain and develop the long-term financial plan using new financial planning software.
  • Gather, analyse and challenge financial and operational data from across the organisation.
  • Improve data quality and reporting to strengthen the financial planning process.
  • Provide scenario modelling, cost-benefit analysis and strategic financial insight.
  • Support investor relations and credit rating requirements.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, Heads of Service and finance colleagues across the organisation.
  • Help shape and develop the FP&A function as the role evolves.

The organisation

You will join a well-established social housing provider and a collaborative FP&A team, with this role becoming the fourth member of the team.

The organisation is investing heavily in its financial planning technology, creating an opportunity to help shape a new approach to long-term planning. The team is relaxed, supportive and outcome-focused, with significant flexibility around working arrangements.

Essential criteria

  • Qualified accountant or significant progress towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Strong experience in FP&A and/or long-term financial planning.
  • Social housing experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with BRIXX or similar financial planning software would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with complex financial data.
  • Able to challenge information and improve data quality.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and translating financial information into strategic insight.
  • Independent, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of a key process.

The organisation is open to both an experienced FP&A professional and an ambitious finance professional looking to step up, provided they can demonstrate strong long-term planning experience.

What’s on offer?

  • £65,000–£70,000, with further flexibility potentially available for an exceptional candidate.
  • Highly flexible hybrid working, with one office day per month required.
  • Travel and mileage expenses covered.
