Are you an experienced Leasehold or Home Ownership leader with a strong understanding of managing agents, service charges and leasehold legislation? Have you managed multidisciplinary teams within a large Social Housing organisation? Are you available at short notice for an interim assignment?
Robertson Bell is recruiting an Interim Head of Leasehold Services for a major Housing Association undergoing a restructure of its specialist leasehold functions. This is a three-to-six-month assignment. The successful candidate will bring together several previously separate functions, maintain effective service delivery and support the establishment of a new specialist team. The emphasis is on stability, leadership and practical improvements, rather than delivering a wholesale transformation programme.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership across managing agent relationships, major works consultation and billing, and specialist leasehold management.
- Bringing together established teams and supporting the mobilisation of a newly created leasehold function.
- Overseeing third-party managing agent relationships, including service charge assurance, compliance, escalations and building safety matters.
- Ensuring effective delivery of Section 20 consultations and major works billing.
- Overseeing specialist leasehold matters including consents, alterations, subletting, Right to Manage and resident management companies.
- Reviewing existing processes, resolving operational challenges and implementing practical short-term improvements.
- Supporting senior leadership with risk management, service delivery and a structured handover to the permanent postholder.
The assignment is expected to last three to six months, worked on a hybrid model from the central London office.
To be considered, please meet these criteria:
- Significant experience in leasehold management, home ownership or specialist leasehold services, ideally within Social Housing.
- Strong understanding of service charges, managing agent relationships and relevant leasehold legislation.
- Previous leadership experience at Head of Service or comparable senior management level.
- Experience overseeing multiple operational functions and managing teams through organisational change.
- The ability to quickly assess service delivery challenges, establish priorities and maintain operational continuity.
- Experience within a large Housing Association, particularly a G15 organisation, would be advantageous.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so please apply ASAP if this opportunity is of interest.
