My client is a Coventry based charity who are currently seeking a Head of Finance to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the CEO, you will hold a critical position on the senior management team and be responsible for managing a team of three whilst overseeing all things finance.

The key duties of this Head of Finance role are as follows:

  • Oversee the financial operations of the charity including financial reporting and accounting, payroll, strategic development and financial planning and analysis.
  • Be fully responsible for the annual budget setting and drive value for money efficiencies.
  • Play a vital role in the ongoing development of the charity’s long term strategic plan, challenging assumptions and providing financial analysis to influence decision making.
  • Take the lead in the annual audit process, acting as a key contact for the external Auditors and providing any requested financial information.  
  • Assist budget holders with the evaluation of business cases using financial models.
  • Attend quarterly board meetings and prepare reports for presentation to the Audit and Risk Committee.  

This would be the perfect opportunity for someone with proven experience in a number one finance role or would suit a strong number two now looking for a step up. This full time Head of Finance role will be offered on a hybrid working basis, so applicants must live within a commutable distance from their offices in Coventry.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A full CCAB qualification.
  • Proven experience operating at a senior level of a finance function.
  • Experience managing and developing a small team.
  • Ideally, a background working in the charity sector, although candidates without this are still strongly encouraged to apply.
  • The confidence to establish solid relationships with senior management level stakeholders.
