What you’ll do
- Act as a Finance Business Partner to academics, principal investigators, and project managers.
- Support stakeholders to manage research funding effectively, from award through to close-out.
- Ensure compliance with policies, departmental procedures, and funder terms and conditions.
- Oversee and coordinate all grant audits within the department ensuring deadlines are met and compliance is clearly evidenced.
- Provide clear, practical financial advice to help stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Liaise confidently with external funding bodies and auditors to protect departmental interests.
What you’ll need
- Degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience.
- Fully or part-qualified accountant.
- Proven experience of financial management in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to influence, negotiate, and challenge constructively.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly Excel.
