Head of Finance

Robertson Bell are partnering exclusively with a fast growing organisation to to recruit a Head of Finance for a fast-growing digital healthcare provider. The organisation delivers rapid access to specialist outpatient care through a virtual-first model, combining virtual consultations, diagnostics, blood tests, and in-person care where clinically required. With an ambitious revenue trajectory and expanding workforce, this is an exciting stage of scale and transformation.

This senior leadership role reports directly to the CFO and includes line management of a small team.

The Head of Finance will lead the operational delivery of the finance function, ensuring accuracy, control, and reliable financial reporting. This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise, disciplined execution, and the ability to produce clear, decision-useful financial outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead finance operations including month-end close, management accounts, statutory reporting, payroll, invoicing, and supplier payments
• Maintain a robust financial control environment with documented and adhered-to policies and processes
• Provide timely, accurate cashflow and working capital reporting, highlighting risks and supporting operational decision-making
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management information to reflect operational reality and guide strategic planning
• Identify and implement systems and process improvements to support scale, ensuring data integrity across finance systems
• Lead, coach, and develop a small team, building a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
• Partner closely with the CFO and wider leadership team to provide commercial insight and actionable financial advice

Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a hands-on, commercially minded senior finance professional with:

• Fully qualified accountancy designation (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• Proven experience delivering month-end close, management accounts, and statutory reporting
• Strong technical accounting and financial control expertise
• Experience in a hands-on finance role within a fast-moving or scaling organisation
• Strategic mindset with the ability to use finance to support leadership decision-making
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate financial information for non-financial stakeholders
• High integrity and sound professional judgment

Desirable:

• Experience in regulated environments
• Background in scale-ups or high-growth SMEs
• Experience improving finance systems and processes
• Familiarity with Xero or similar cloud-based finance platforms

Location:
Mostly remote, with one day per week in central London for leadership meetings and key sessions.
