Can you bring consistency and clarity to complex rent and property administration services? Are you comfortable leading teams across multiple locations and systems? Do you enjoy improving processes without disrupting what already works well?

A large Housing Association is seeking a Head of Rents to lead a multi-site function responsible for rent setting, rent accounting and property administration. This role focuses on creating consistency, strengthening stakeholder relationships and ensuring the service can absorb organisational change — including increased property administration activity — while maintaining high standards of accuracy and control.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Rent Setting function across multiple office locations.
  • Ensuring consistent processes and controls across rent setting, rent accounting and property setup activities.
  • Overseeing rent accounting transactions and reconciliations within the housing management system.
  • Managing the integration of additional property administration responsibilities into the team.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ensuring clear ownership and accountability.
  • Supporting and developing managers and officers within a long-established team structure.
  • Driving continuous improvement while respecting existing strengths within the service.

This is a people-led leadership role in a function that broadly works well but needs greater consistency and resilience as the organisation evolves. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how the service operates in the future, strengthen stakeholder confidence, and create clearer, more efficient ways of working — without the expectation of wholesale transformation.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

  • Experience leading Rent Setting, Rent Accounting or similar operational housing finance functions.
  • Strong understanding of housing management systems and rent-related processes.
  • Proven ability to manage dispersed teams and embed consistent ways of working.
  • Confident stakeholder manager, able to balance operational delivery with competing demands.
  • Comfortable leading through incremental change rather than large-scale transformation.
  • Housing-related qualifications desirable but not essential.

This is a permanent, hybrid role requiring regular presence across multiple office locations. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
