Robertson Bell are delighted to be working with a well established and growing organisation in Hertfordshire to recruit a Fixed Assets Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious part qualified accountant to step into a broad, hands on finance role within a complex and evolving organisation.
As Fixed Assets Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the balance sheet and supporting wider finance activity across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ownership and ongoing maintenance of the fixed asset register, including supporting its integration with a new housing management system
- Supporting the development programme, including tracking work in progress, asset handovers and disposals
- Assisting with quarterly VAT returns and year end audit requirements
- Coordinating and contributing to the balance sheet reconciliation process
This is a varied role that will give you exposure to multiple areas of the finance function and the opportunity to build a strong technical foundation.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be part qualified (ACCA or CIMA)
- Have 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Ideally have experience working in a fixed asset intensive environment
- Demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly around fixed assets
- Be confident working with balance sheet reconciliations and supporting audit processes
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the business
- Be proactive, organised and keen to develop within a growing finance function
