  • Business partner with Development, Sales, IT, Facilities and Major Works teams on Capex activity
  • Deliver clear, concise and reliable financial information to support decision making
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with capital and finance policies
  • Drive process improvements to reduce month-end timelines while maintaining audit-ready records

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare, post and review weekly, monthly and ad-hoc journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including component accounting, additions, disposals, enhancements, depreciation and grant amortisation
  • Upload and reconcile development and other capital costs and income between SUN, Sequel and Dynamics, reporting variances to key stakeholders
  • Ensure the Fixed Asset Register reconciles to the General Ledger and Housing Management System
  • Support capital budgets, forecasts and long-term financial planning
  • Work closely with Asset Management and Development teams from project inception through to completion
  • Prepare audit schedules and statutory accounting disclosures
  • Produce insightful variance analysis and commentary for monthly management accounts
  • Process intercompany journals and reconciliations
  • Account for and reconcile RCGF, DPF and retentions
  • Prepare the monthly VAT return for the subsidiary and flag risks or issues early
  • Support ad-hoc capital, development and sales-related projects as required

What you’ll need

  • Strong capital accounting experience, ideally within housing, property or infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of fixed assets, component accounting and grant funding
  • Experience preparing journals, reconciliations and audit schedules
  • Confidence working with non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced)
  • Experience with SUN (or similar finance systems)
  • CIMA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified
