A respected UK charity with national and international reach is recruiting a Financial Planning & Analysis Lead into a newly created permanent role. This position has been established following a recent restructure and represents a key step in strengthening financial insight, accountability, and strategic decision-making across the organisation.

With an annual income of c.£21m and a diverse range of activities, the organisation is operating in a challenging financial environment where cost control, high-quality forecasting, and clear financial storytelling are essential. What you’ll do as FP&A Lead

  • Lead organisation-wide FP&A activity, establishing consistent, high-quality management reporting
  • Own the annual budgeting process and lead regular forecasting cycles
  • Prepare insightful monthly, quarterly, and Board-level financial reports, translating complex data into clear narratives
  • Act as a trusted business partner to senior leaders, supporting decision-making through robust analysis
  • Deliver headcount reporting, salary analysis, and cost control insight
  • Identify gaps in existing reporting and design improved, pragmatic solutions
  • Develop financial models to support strategic planning and long-term sustainability
  • Drive a culture of accountability and stronger financial ownership among budget holders
  • Line manage and develop a Finance Analyst, embedding capability and confidence within the FP&A function
  • Contribute to finance system development and reporting improvements in a maturing systems environment

What you’ll need

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) - essential
  • Proven experience in an FP&A or similar strategic finance role
  • Strong experience leading budgets, forecasts, and management reporting
  • The confidence to operate at senior level and influence non-financial stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong Excel capability
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach with the ability to deliver change sensitively
  • Experience within a charity, membership, or complex stakeholder environment is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience managing or developing team members

Location & working pattern

This is a hybrid role, with approximately 40% office-based working (typically two days per week), and the remainder worked remotely. The role is London-based.
