Can you bring clarity where systems, processes and reporting lack direction? Are you strong at documenting, critiquing and improving end-to-end finance processes? Do you enjoy working across the business to establish better, more disciplined ways of working?

A large, complex not-for-profit organisation in Central London is seeking a Senior Finance Systems & Reporting Lead on a 12-month fixed-term contract to help align finance systems, reporting and governance during a period of change. The organisation has recently invested in systems capability, but lacks clear end-to-end documentation, process ownership and an agreed direction of travel. This role will bring structure, discipline and clarity — not to run BAU, but to define how things should be going forward.

You’ll work closely with finance, systems teams and the wider business, as well as external advisers, to document processes, challenge current ways of working and embed more effective governance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Documenting and standardising finance system processes end to end, producing clear workflows, controls, SOPs and system guidance.
  • Aligning reporting and month-end activity, mapping data flows and dependencies and standardising timelines with Financial Reporting teams.
  • Embedding new ways of working, supporting teams through change, coaching on system usage and addressing adoption issues.
  • Diagnosing and fixing process and system weaknesses that impact data quality, control and reporting.
  • Driving continuous improvement, working with Finance Systems, Analytics and Transformation teams to enhance efficiency, controls and user experience.

This is a genuinely influential role with the remit to shape how finance operates in a large and complex organisation. You’ll have the space to do this properly — documenting what exists, challenging it constructively, and leaving behind clear, usable processes and governance that will support the organisation long after the contract ends. The office is in Central London with an expectation to be on site twice per week.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

  • Qualified accountant with strong finance systems literacy (e.g. D365, MyFinance, Power BI).
  • Proven experience in system-led process design, documentation and implementation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose issues across data, reporting and control environments.
  • Confident, pragmatic operator able to influence across complex stakeholder groups.

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis, with flexibility for virtual or in-person meetings.
