Would you thrive in a high-growth environment where your input directly impacts business success and social impact?

A rapidly expanding trading subsidiary of a charity is looking to appoint a Director of Finance to join its senior leadership team. Following a period of growth, transformation and interim support, the finance function is ready for a permanent, strategically focused leader.

What you’ll do

  • Develop pricing models and cost-recovery strategies for commercial contracts
  • Ensure robust management information and reporting, including variance analysis and insights for senior leadership
  • Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support corrective actions
  • Build, develop, and lead a small but growing finance team, defining roles, responsibilities, and processes
  • Collaborate with central group finance to ensure alignment on consolidation, governance, and reporting
  • Support system improvements, including financial systems and CRM interfaces, to enhance functionality and decision-making
  • Act as escalation point for financial issues and provide challenge in a constructive, collaborative way

What you’ll need

  • CCAB qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience in financial planning, management accounting, and commercial finance
  • Proven ability to provide clear insight to non-finance stakeholders and influence decision-making
  • Experience in building or leading small finance teams, with a focus on performance and development
  • Commercial awareness, with understanding of pricing, contracts, and cost drivers
  • Confidence working in a fast-growing, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to balance commercial priorities with purpose-driven organisational goals
