Robertson Bell are pleased to be working with this growing multi-academy trust whilst they recruit for a new and permanent Head of Finance. Reporting into the COO this role will manage a small team of three and be responsible for the coordination of a high performing finance function and delivery of the long-term strategy.

Duties for this role will include:

  • Produce the multi-academy’s annual accounts and ensure compliance with the necessary regulations.
  • Put in place and oversee appropriate administrative governance support for the Board and associated committees.
  • Produce and regularly review financial forecasting for the organisation, to inform the academy’s strategy and identify key financial/funding issues.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process ensuring all budget holders take active responsibility for planning and costs.
  • Engaging with the COO and leadership team, the finance committee and budget holders across the organisation.
  • Lead a robust financial planning process including budgeting and monitoring of income and expenditure.
  • Ensure systems and processes are fit for purpose and roll out any necessary improvements or changes.
  • Partner with Head teachers across academies and ensure financial sustainability is a clear objective ensuring future growth.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join an ambitious academy trust and work closely with a high-performing team. This Head of Finance would best suit an experienced Accountant who has previously worked within a single or multi-academy trust. The role will be based at the organisations head office north of Nottingham however flexible home working can be agreed.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Accountant who has experience in the following:

  • Providing finance information, annual reports and accounts to the Board.
  • Leading on statutory reporting and the external annual audit.
  • Management of a small team.
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders of all levels.
  • Risk management and governance.
