Join a rapidly growing, values-led national charity as Head of Finance and Reporting. Reporting to the COO, this is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function in an organisation delivering major contracts and expanding services, including new residential detox provision.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical excellence with strong business partnering in a complex, contract-led environment.
What you’ll do
Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning aligned to strategic growth
Produce monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts and variance analysis
Deliver clear financial reporting to the COO and senior leadership
Lead statutory accounts preparation and manage the external audit
Ensure compliance with SORP, Charity Commission and HMRC requirements
Strengthen internal controls, governance and risk management
Oversee grant funding, restricted and unrestricted funds reporting
Support tenders and new contract bids with robust financial modelling
Take ownership of cash flow management
Lead and develop the finance team, embedding a high-performance culture
Bring payroll fully into the finance function
What you’ll need
CCAB qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA)
Senior finance leadership experience in a growing organisation
Strong management accounting and business partnering capability
Experience within charity finance, including grants and restricted funding
Audit management experience
Strong cash flow expertise
Commercial mindset with the confidence to operate in a large, complex environment
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders
