My client is a London based small to medium sized not-for-profit organization, with links to numerous international research projects. With complex challenges at play and a number of factors influencing their success and viability over the coming months, they are recruiting for an Interim Part Time Director of Finance on a six month, part time engagement to:

  • Finalise the draft accounts, having quickly understood the complex nature of existing projects and factors affecting the financial viability of the organization
  • Liaise with auditors and field queries with gravitas and credibility
  • Create financial models to influence short term strategic decision making
  • Design the financial strategy for the short to medium term
  • Support a junior member of staff, being hands-on with creating stability in the day to day running of finance.

This will be an excellent opportunity for someone who likes to transform Finance and create an environment of success that echoes the high standards and success of the organization it supports. This role can be performed either full or part time and the right candidate will add huge value to the prospects of the organization and ensure the viability it deserves for years to come.

The role can be performed in a hybrid working pattern, ideally with two days of on-site presence each week. Candidates looking for three or four days per week are encouraged to apply, though there is also the option for full time for the right individual.

Candidates should:

  • Be fully qualified as an accountant with significant experience in interim roles in which you have transformed the financial strategy of an organization
  • Be familiar with the challenges raised dealing with restricted funding, ideally with exposure to a research funding environment
  • Be a credible senior leader, experienced in small organisations in the not for profit sector which diverse income and expenditure portfolios
  • Be available for a quick start and be able to commit to the full duration of the contract.
