Are you an experienced Head of Finance looking for a number one role? Could you confidently lead the finance department of a rapidly growing, ambitious organisation? Keen to secure a varied, hands-on role that reports directly into the CEO? If yes, look no further!

My client is a rapidly growing charitable organisation based in central London who are currently seeking a Head of Finance to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the CEO, you will manage a team of four and be responsible for all things finance. Through leadership and the provision of sound financial advice and guidance, you will enable them to deliver targets in line with their new strategic plan.

The key duties of this Head of Finance role are as follows:

  • Manage the finance team, offering opportunities for necessary development and training and ensuring a high performing culture.
  • Business partner with the CEO and other senior stakeholders across the charity to review financial performance, investigate variances and advise on decision making.
  • Prepare board packs and present these at regular meetings as well as being a part of the audit and risk committee.
  • Full responsibility for the annual budget setting and forecasting processes in line with organisation strategy.
  • Be accountable for the timely production of the organisation’s monthly management accounts.
  • Manage all year end activity, including development of the audit schedule, liaising with the External Auditors and overseeing production of the financial statements.

This full time Head of Finance role will officially be based out of the charity’s head office in London however flexible working from home will be on offer. It will suit someone who has previous experience working in a senior accounting role within the charitable sector who is now looking for a new challenge.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Fully qualified as an accountant.
  • Experience managing a team of finance professionals.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with both management and financial accounts.
  • Ideally, a background working in the charity sector, but this is by no means essential.
  • Experience working at a senior level in a complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
