My client is a public sector organisation based in the South East who are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their growing finance team on a permanent basis. The Finance Business Partner will lead a team who will be responsible for the management accounting and budget setting for its’ given directorate, as well as acting as a key point of contact for any finance related queries.  

The main responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner include:

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all budget holders in the organisation, acting as the finance subject matter expert.
  • Provide extensive financial analysis on performance, including identifying and analysing any trends.
  • Lead on the production of budgets and forecasts, take responsibility for the maintenance of robust budgetary controls and continuing to support and challenge budget holders on their performance against budgets.  
  • Analyse and review financial business cases for key capital expenditure projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for financial reporting.
  • Directly manage a team of two, providing training to support their development and maximise their productivity.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experienced in Finance Business Partnering, with demonstrable experience in being able to challenge budget holders.
  • A confident communicator with an excellent ability to communicate detailed financial analysis to non-financial stakeholders.
  • An Advance user of Excel.
