Robertson Bell are proud to once again be working with this industry-leading residential property developer in their search for a Capital Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. Based in West London, you will be responsible for supporting on all things capital accounting across a portfolio worth over £650million in value.

The key duties of this Capital Accountant Role are as follows:

  • Play a key role in all aspects of capital accounting for a large portfolio of development schemes, ensuring financial position is accurately reflected.
  • Business partner with a variety of stakeholders across the Project Management Teams to support on any queries relating to costs.
  • Full responsibility for ensuring all journals for your remit are posted into the correct accounts in a timely fashion.
  • Take the lead in the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reports for schemes under your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure the accurate calculation and provision of development costs for use in budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide invaluable support at year end in all things capital finance, liaising with the Auditors as required.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious finance professional with a natural curiosity for development and capital finance who is now ready to take the next step in their career. Hybrid working arrangements will be on offer, with an expectation to only be in the office two or three days per week from the New Year.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Part-qualified as an accountancy professional.
  • A background working with a large balance sheet in an organisation of a similar complexity.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management experience.
  • Ideally, experience working in the housing, property or construction sectors, but this is by no means essential.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
