Robertson Bell are once again working with this highly respected national charity whilst they recruit to this newly created permanent Head of Finance role. Reporting into a fantastic Director of finance you would have one direct report with overall responsibility for a team of five. Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Leading the complete finance function and managing the relationship with the outsourced IT provider.
  • Preparing draft management accounts reports with commentary for the Finance Director to review and sign off.
  • Having full responsibility for all financial planning and analysis you will lead on all budgeting and forecasting.
  • Act as the lead on all year-end processes and coordinate the onsite audit.
  • Work closely with the Finance Director on business cases and plans and any applications for external grants.
  • Managing the finance system and overview all processes and controls ensuring any improvements are rolled out effectively.
  • Leading on complex Tax and VAT matters ensuring the organisation complies with necessary regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Managing the finance team, offering opportunity for necessary development and training and ensuring a high performing culture.

This full time Head of Finance role will officially be based out of the charity’s head office in south-west London however flexible working from home will be on offer. This position would best suit a fully qualified Accountant who has had previous experience in the not-for-profit sector.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA).
  • Have previously led on month and year-end reporting.
  • Be a strong communicator.
  • Have proven experience in the charity sector.
  • Be self-motivated, driven and ambitious.
  • Have previously managed staff.
