Are you a fully qualified finance professional ready to take the lead in a small but dedicated team? Do you have a strong grasp of both financial and management accounting, coupled with the confidence to present to trustees and support key stakeholders? Are you looking for a meaningful role within a values-driven organisation where your financial insight can make a real impact? If yes, this could be the role for you!

A respected charitable organisation with a long-standing presence in the region is now seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead its finance function following the upcoming retirement of the current postholder. This is a rare opportunity to join the senior leadership team and work closely with colleagues across finance, safeguarding, property, and education to ensure financial stability and informed strategic planning.

Working with a well-established and experienced team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and overseeing all aspects of financial and management accounting, including the year-end audit process and monthly reporting to trustees.
  • Managing and developing a small finance team, including oversight of Gift Aid and finance administration.
  • Working with stakeholders across the organisation to set and monitor budgets – including guiding those with varying levels of financial literacy.
  • Preparing financial reports and commentary for board and trustee meetings.
  • Overseeing reporting on investments, fixed assets, and property decisions.
  • Supporting the effective allocation of funds and providing guidance on financial matters across the wider organisation.

You will benefit from hybrid working requiring you in the office one day per week (after an initial office-based onboarding period), free on-site parking, salary sacrifice options, pension contributions, and you’ll join a friendly, close-knit team in a financially stable organisation with a supportive culture.

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA).
  • Have experience in both financial and management accounting.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt when engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders and board members.
  • Have prior experience managing or supervising a team.
  • Ideally bring experience from the charity or education sectors (desirable, not essential).

Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis ahead of interviews scheduled for late July, so apply now to avoid missing out. Please note that shortlisted candidates will be required to complete an application form.
