Are you an experienced Finance Manager or Finance Business Partner looking for a part-time interim role in a small housing association? Do you thrive on supporting both management accounting and transactional finance, without the burden of formal line management? Are you available for a 3-6 month contract in North London?

My client, a small North London Housing provider, is seeking an Interim Part Time Finance Manager to join their team for a three-to-six month contract, working four days per week. The role reports directly to the Head of Finance and will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of financial operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on the production of monthly management accounts.
  • Supporting junior team members with transactional finance duties.
  • Providing budget holders with forecasting, variance analysis, and budgeting support.
  • Promoting best practices surrounding the finance system and being a point of contact for system use queries.
  • Leading on service charge accounting and budgeting for a small number of shared ownership properties.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring and guiding others while also being a strong figure in the finance team. The post does not involve formal line management, making it ideal for someone who can lead by example and drive best practices without direct managerial responsibilities.

The role is based in North London, with one day per week in the office and flexibility in the working days.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

  • Strong experience in management accounting and business partnering within the Housing sector.
  • Ideally be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Natural aptitude for finance systems with a patient and detail-oriented approach to developing junior staff members.
  • Experience with service charge accounting and budgeting is highly desirable.

The ideal start date for the right candidate will be the middle of July but applications are being reviewed continually and interviews will be set up promptly.
