Accounts Payable Officer

£31,000 | Kent | Hybrid (2 days in office per week)
Leading Not-for-Profit Housing Organisation

We’re partnering with a respected and community-minded not-for-profit housing provider in Kent to find an Accounts Payable Officer to join their supportive finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow within a purpose-driven organisation that values collaboration and accuracy.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborating with colleagues across finance to ensure timely and accurate monthly bank reconciliations

  • Processing payments using the most efficient methods available, including BACS, and identifying alternatives where needed

  • Posting and allocating direct debits and completions in line with agreed deadlines each month

  • Supporting the shift toward a more digital and streamlined accounts payable function

  • Maintaining up-to-date records of financial obligations to ensure strong cash flow oversight

Why This Role?

This is more than just a transactional finance role — it’s a chance to make a difference in how essential services are delivered. You’ll be joining a friendly, forward-thinking team that’s actively modernising its systems and processes, with space to contribute your ideas and grow your skills. If you’re looking for a role where attention to detail meets meaningful purpose, this could be the perfect fit.

What We’re Looking For

  • A confident communicator who can work effectively with both internal teams and external partners

  • Prior experience in an accounts payable or finance support role, with strong attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfortable picking up new systems

  • Ideally studying towards an accounting qualification or bringing comparable practical experience

This is a fantastic chance to join a well-regarded organisation in a role with genuine impact and a clear path for development.
