Service Charge Analyst

£43,000 | East London | Hybrid (2 days in office)
Well-Respected Small Housing Association

We’re partnering with a highly regarded small housing association based in East London, looking to bring on board a Service Charge Analyst to support their growing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a hands-on, detail-focused role that underpins the accurate financial management of their services.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Analysing service charge income and costs at a detailed, transactional level
  • Ensuring all charges are coded correctly and identifying necessary adjustments
  • Posting journals and accruals where needed, and carrying out thorough reconciliations between housing and finance systems
  • Preparing annual service charge estimates, actuals, and sinking fund statements
  • Carrying out variance analysis and responding to internal queries with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Supporting improvement projects to enhance the quality of service charge reporting and compliance
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams, especially the service charge accountants and leasehold officers

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working in a service charge finance role, ideally in a social housing or local government context
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets
  • Analytical mindset and a proactive, inquisitive personality
  • Ideally part-qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) but can also look at qualified by experience

This is a great next step for someone with a couple of years of service charge experience who’s looking for a more analytical, involved role in a supportive and mission-driven organisation.
