Are you a commercially minded, qualified accountant who thrives on variety and complexity? Do you enjoy translating numbers into narratives that drive impactful decisions? Keen to partner with senior stakeholders, influence strategy and lead on major financial planning initiatives? If yes this could be your next role!

This is a unique opportunity to join a highly respected educational institution as a Finance Business Partner, supporting their dynamic property functions –the most commercial and fast-moving area in the organisation. With an annual income portfolio of over £40 million across more than 25 sites and units, you’ll be central to the financial performance and strategic growth of these key operations.

The key duties of this Finance Business Partner will be:

  • Business partnering with the Associate Director and senior budget holders across your directorate.
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning cycles across a highly-valued commercial portfolio.
  • Owning the annual rent-setting process, with full benchmarking and market analysis.
  • Delivering monthly and quarterly management reporting, variance analysis, and financial commentary for key stakeholders.
  • Supporting major strategic initiatives such as the 5-year property forecast and the 10-year services strategy.
  • Contributing financial insights to new income streams, capital planning, summer business and outsourced service reviews.
  • Interpreting complex legal contracts and occupancy arrangements to model accurate cashflows and risks.

What makes this role special?

You’ll be working in a high-profile position that combines commercial focus with purpose-driven impact. There is no other finance role at this level in the organisation with this level of commercial scope, stakeholder visibility or strategic influence. For those interested in property, capital programmes or housing, this is a standout opportunity to bring that interest into a finance setting.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent).
  • An experienced finance business partner with a commercial mindset and excellent stakeholder skills.
  • An effective communicator who can confidently translate data into insight for non-finance colleagues.
  • Curious, proactive and eager to develop expertise in areas such as rent setting, financial modelling, and strategic planning.
  • Experience in housing, property or student accommodation would be a significant advantage.

If you think this sounds like the right next step for you in your career, please do not hesitate to apply as CVs are being reviewed daily and this role is likely to close to applications before the closing date.
