We’re seeking two ambitious and personable Finance Business Partners to support key financial processes and drive performance across a dynamic portfolio. This role combines technical accounting responsibilities with meaningful stakeholder engagement—offering the perfect blend of variety and impact. One position is primarily focused on monthly reporting, while the other oversees audits; both roles share core responsibilities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and mentor a team of two junior staff members, driving their professional growth through tailored upskilling initiatives, hands-on support, and meaningful development opportunities.
- Own the financial oversight of a diverse portfolio of 300+ grants, becoming the go-to subject matter expert and ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic insight across all funding streams.
- Build trusted relationships with senior academic stakeholders, translating complex financial terminology into clear, actionable guidance that supports informed decision-making.
- Take charge of project closures, ensuring seamless wrap-up of departmental initiatives by delivering accurate and timely financial reports in line with institutional standards.
- Independently produce and deliver comprehensive monthly grant reports, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to deeply understand and support individual budget needs. (Monthly reporting version)
- Spearhead the full audit process, collaborating with the central finance team to ensure smooth execution, while confidently handling and resolving any audit-related queries. (Audit reporting version)
What We're Looking For
- A part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent), with at least Level 2 of one of these qualifications
- Experience in grant management is desirable
- A strong communicator who can confidently push back and challenge senior stakeholders
- An aptitude for financial reporting, with the ability to compile and present complex financial information
