Are you a dynamic and driven Management Accountant looking for a role with real breadth? Do you thrive on getting into the detail while still seeing the bigger picture? Would you enjoy shaping the management accounts process across a diverse and community-focused housing group? If yes, look no further!

This Senior Management Accountant role offers far more than your standard MA position. It’s a hands-on, high-impact opportunity to work across month-end, statutory reporting, forecasting and Power BI, and to make your mark in an evolving and progressive finance function.

The key duties of this Senior Management Accountant will be:

  • Leading on monthly management accounts across multiple entities and producing narrative reports in collaboration with the FBP team
  • Reviewing forecasts and budgets prepared by FBPs, ensuring accuracy and challenging assumptions before consolidation
  • Overseeing VAT and CIS returns, ONS and regulatory submissions
  • Authorising payment runs and bank line payments
  • Maintaining and developing the chart of accounts and control processes
  • Owning the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting templates – including Power BI model integrity and refreshes
  • Managing one Assistant Accountant
  • Policing and improving internal controls and cost centre/coding structure

You’ll be pulling together insight from across the organisation and playing a key role in interpreting financials from a strategic lens. You’ll work with a friendly, high-performing team who genuinely enjoy what they do, and you’ll benefit from flexible, remote-first working with only occasional office visits (1–2 times per month, if that). With a broad housing and commercial property portfolio and a reputation for doing the right thing in their community, this is a great opportunity to be part of a purpose-led organisation doing exciting work.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or finalist with a strong grounding in management accounting
  • Experienced in housing sector finance
  • Technically sharp, with excellent Excel skills and experience using (or adapting to) tools like Power BI
  • Proactive, energetic, and able to drive efficiency in processes
  • Comfortable getting stuck into detail, investigating variances, and liaising with colleagues across the business
