My client is a well-known social housing provider with ambitious growth plans, who are currently seeking a new Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. This brilliant, hands-on role offers a CV-enhancing opportunity, and will be responsible for coordinating all technical aspects of the organisation’s financial accounting and audit processes, whilst also providing support and guidance to a high performing team.

The key duties of this Financial Controller role are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for leading the organisation’s statutory accounts and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Take the lead in the coordination of the annual audit process, liaising with the External Auditors, developing schedules and preparing all necessary data files.
  • Consolidate the annual budget for the Group for presentation to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Provide critical support in the implementation of the new finance system and drive a culture of continuous process improvements.
  • Manage and develop a team of three accountancy professionals, giving them every opportunity to progress in their careers.
  • Have invaluable input into the development of the organisation’s long-term financial strategy
  • Provide critical support in any tax and compliance focused work and support the maintenance of the asset register.

This role comes at an exciting time for the organisation as they are about to embark on an innovative, large-scale transformation programme, of which this role will play a key role in. Following the pandemic, the organisation has adopted an extremely flexible approach to working, so are open to considering applications who wish to pursue this opportunity on an entirely remote basis.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Achieved their full accountancy qualification.
  • Experience leading the Audit process and statutory accounts production.
  • Ideally, a background working in the social housing sector, but this is by no means essential.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Experience or to the desire to manage and develop a small team.
