My client is a well-established, dynamic charity based nearly Crawley who are now looking for a Finance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting into a supportive Director of Finance and Operations, this role holds key oversight of the day-to-day financial management of the charity and offers exposure to a variety of different areas including management and financial accounting, ledger management and budgeting.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Full oversight of the charity‚Äôs day-to-day finance function, ensuring all invoices have been accurately processed and all bank accounts have been reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Manage and provide training and development opportunities to one Finance Assistant.
  • Play a leading role in the production of the monthly management accounts and provide detailed supporting commentaries as required.
  • Deputise for the Finance Director at year end, assisting with the preparation of the statutory accounts and liaising with the External Auditors as required.
  • Take the lead in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for the charity to review stage.
  • Business partner with a range of non-financial stakeholders across the charity to support on any finance related queries.

This role will suit someone who has demonstrable experience in both management and financial accounting who is now looking to further their finance career whilst working for a dynamic charity with an impressive history. Although homebased until January 2022, applicants must live within a commutable distance of their offices based near Crawley.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong understanding of both management and financial accounting processes.
  • Part-qualified as an accountant or be qualified by experience.
  • Previous experience overseeing finance ledgers.
  • Ideally, a history of working in the charity sector. However, candidates without this will still be considered.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing a small team.
