Robertson Bell are supporting a Public Sector organisation, with offices in both London and Birmingham, to recruit an experienced interim Financial Accountant on an initial three month contract.
This is a hybrid role that is likely to be two days per week while taking a handover, with the office requirement likely reducing slightly after this initial period.
The interim Financial Accountant will be responsible for:
- Supporting the preparation of the annual report and accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS reporting standards.
- Assisting in testing and refining financial processes as part of the embedding of Microsoft Dynamics 365, identifying efficiencies where possible.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns and liaising with HMRC.
- Support month-end activities including preparation of financial statements and management of the balance sheet.
You will need:
- A UK recognised accountancy qualification with significant experience in financial accounting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
- Working knowledge of VAT returns and general tax compliance.
- Solid systems skills (as a user) and a high level of Excel competency.
