My client is a London based charity who is looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting into an experienced and well-respected line manager, this role will be responsible for the end-to-end payables process for one of the charity's key divisions. 

The key duties and responsibilities of this Purchase Ledger Assistant role are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for ensuring that all invoices are processed correctly and that all payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Upload all invoices for your entity onto the system and ensure that they are coded accurately.
  • Provide invaluable support in reconciling the purchase ledger and supplier statements on a monthly basis, investigating any variances as required.
  • Ensure all invoice authorisations are obtained and approved by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide invaluable support to internal users of the charity’s P2P process, answering any queries as they arise.
  • Play a leading role in the weekly payment run process.

This exceptional opportunity offers brilliant potential for progression and development in the future, whilst working as part of a vibrant, dynamic team. Although homebased initially, applicants must live within a commutable distance of their offices in central London. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience working in a purchase ledger function.
  • Started actively studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification.
  • Ideally experience working in the charity sector. However, candidates without this are still strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication skills be a proactive worker and proficient in the use of Excel.
  • The drive and enthusiasm to learn on the job and build a fantastic career in finance.
