Robertson Bell are working with this inspiring Christian charity whilst they recruit for an International FP&A Accountant to join their London based finance team on a permanent basis. This critical role will be fully responsible for the financial management of all donor-funded projects for one of the charity’s key regions. Through the provision of financial support and advice, you will enable them to make important decisions and continue on their growth trajectory.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Take the lead on the financial management of all projects within your regional portfolio, supporting the in-country teams and providing and programme oversight reports to Project Managers and the Regional Directors as required.
  • Full responsibility for the annual budget and forecast setting processes for each project and the region as a whole.
  • Business partner regularly with the international project teams, ensuring they are on track with spending and providing additional training as necessary.
  • Provide vital financial support and advice in the development of the medium and long-term plans.
  • Act as the finance lead for the development of new grant proposals, ensuring all costs and potential risks are accurately accounted for.
  • Undertake occasional international travel to various locations across the globe to manage relationships with various stakeholders of programme specific matters.

This permanent International FP&A Accountant role offers a brilliant and unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about international development and is looking to make a move into the sector. The charity is currently undergoing an exciting period of growth, which will see the role grow and take on greater responsibility over time, offering excellent development potential. Although initially home-based, applicants must live within a commutable distance from their Head Office in London.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable experience of producing budgets and forecasts.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and month end reporting procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ideally, previous experience producing long-term financial plans.
  • The confidence to manipulate large data sets in Excel and draw conclusions to influence strategic decision making.
