My client is a not for profit organisation whose focus is on achieving a sustainable future and delivering successes surrounding climate change. With headquarters in attractive offices in London and partnerships in multiple nations, the organisation has a huge scope of influence.

The role of the Interim Head of Finance and Operations is a 15 month FTC and will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Be the finance lead for the organisation, reporting directly to the Chief Executive and delivering full financial stability
  • Lead a number of Operational areas including Fundraising and HR, establishing and maintaining an environment of operational robustness
  • Lead on the financial management of a complex series of grants, providing expert level reporting on grants management
  • Lead on all financial management including budgeting, forecasting, routine management accounts, and delivering year end and audit
  • Act as the key point of support for the Chief Executive for all business areas, providing the Board with an exceptional service in terms of internal reporting
  • Manage a team of three staff as well as numerous outsources Resources relationships.

This role offers the chance to do 2-3 days working from home each week. To be considered, these are the criteria to meet:

  • Have substantial experience in a senior finance role in an environment with complex grant funding income streams, where you are the lead on grants management
  • Be an experienced manager, who can not only manage staff but ideally outsourced relationships in non-finance operations, ideally in small organisations £8m turnover or less
  • Have strong core finance skills such as budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, financial analysis, ideally all within the not for profit sector.
