Are you seeking a hands-on role with exposure to a variety of different areas and a clear progression path? Keen to work for a rapidly growing charity with ambitious growth plans? Do you enjoy taking autonomous control of your workload and spotting opportunities to take the lead in new areas? If yes, this could be the role for you!

Robertson Bell are proud to be working with this unique charity in their search for a Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis in this newly created role. Reporting into an experienced Finance Director with an impressive background, this varied, hands on role will be responsible for managing the charity’s daily financial operations. Accompanied with fantastic training and development opportunities and under supportive leadership, this brilliant opportunity will give the successful candidate every chance to grow and develop professionally.

The key duties of this Financial Accountant role are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for preparing the draft financial statements for review by the Finance Director.
  • Take the lead in the annual budget setting process, working with a variety of stakeholders to provide guidance and challenge assumptions.
  • Provide invaluable support to the Senior Leadership Team in the quarterly forecasting process.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the External Auditors, developing the audit schedules and providing all necessary files in a timely fashion.
  • Manage one Finance Assistant, checking the accuracy of their work and providing hands on support as required.
  • Be at the forefront of generating new ideas to add value and improve existing processes to boost working efficiency across the organisation.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious, driven finance professional with a background in financial accounts who is now looking to take the next step in their career, with the potential to progress into a Finance Manager role further down the line. Furthermore, my client has adopted an extremely flexible approach to working, with the successful candidate only required to go into their London offices twice per week.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Fully qualified as an accountant or be a finalist.
  • Experience working on the preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ideally, a background working in the charity sector, but this is by no means essential.

Candidates who hold an ACA qualification and are looking to make their first move from practice are also strongly encouraged to apply.

If you are interested, please do not delay in applying as applications are being reviewing daily and interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis.
