We’re partnering with a dynamic education provider to recruit a Deputy Head of Finance - a pivotal role supporting the Head of Finance in delivering high-quality financial management, systems innovation, and project oversight.

This role offers the opportunity to influence key financial decisions, shape the development of finance systems, and ensure robust financial control across a diverse and evolving organisation.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead on financial planning, management, and reporting for a range of grant-funded and capital projects.
  • Support the Head of Finance in embedding financial regulations, policies, and procedures across the organisation.
  • Support compliance with audit, funding, and statutory reporting requirements, maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.
  • Produce clear, insightful management information to support effective decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Partner with budget holders and project teams to enhance financial understanding and accountability.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Oversee system development and maintenance, ensuring finance data is timely, accurate, and fit for purpose.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a fully qualified accountant.
  • Demonstrates excellent technical and analytical skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
  • Has experience of leading or supporting a finance team within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Possesses advanced Excel skills and confidence using financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Brings strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills and able to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels.
