Could you play a leading role in the statutory accounts process for a complex establishment? Looking for the opportunity to work for a rapidly growing, forward-thinking charity? Are you an experienced Financial Accountant with a passion for international development? If yes, this could be the role for you!

My client is a London based international charity who are currently seeking an International Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing all things Financial Accounts for the charity, whilst providing leadership to a small team and regularly liaising with all of the charity’s country offices.

The key duties of this International Financial Accountant role are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for leading the production of the financial statements for all country offices according to local reporting requirements.
  • Take the lead in the coordination of the annual audit process, liaising with External Auditors, developing schedules and providing all necessary files upon request.
  • Manage a small team of part-qualified finance professionals, checking the accuracy of their work and giving them opportunities to develop professionally.
  • Be at the forefront of generating new ideas to add value and improve existing processes to boost working efficiency across the organisation.
  • Manage the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider and ensure that all VAT returns are prepared in a timely fashion.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Achieved their full accountancy qualification or be a finalist.
  • Ideally a background working for either a charity or an international organisation.
  • Experience working on the preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferable, previous experience managing or supervising a small team.
