Service Charge Finance Lead
Hertfordshire, hybrid working pattern, £40-45k

This is a great opportunity to play a central role in managing service charge activity for a large and varied property portfolio. You will take ownership of the full service charge cycle, from annual budget setting through to reconciliations and customer queries, while ensuring a smooth and compliant process that supports both residents and internal teams. This position suits someone with strong technical skills, confidence managing timetables, and experience overseeing service charge processes in a housing or property environment.

What you will do
• Manage the full service charge process and act as the main point of contact for all service charge matters across the organisation
• Lead on annual service charge budgeting and review monthly actuals throughout the year
• Produce accurate estimates and year end statements, ensuring income streams are correctly reported
• Oversee service charge reconciliations and manage sinking funds
• Handle stage one customer complaints and provide a responsive and supportive service
• Review and process service charge data, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Support internal and external audit activity and contribute to process improvements
• Work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve queries and provide clear financial advice
• Provide day to day oversight of service charge activities with line management responsibility for the Service Charge Officer

What you will need
• A strong understanding of service charge regulations and processes
• Experience managing service charge timetables, estimates and statements
• Confidence working with financial data and reviewing detailed information
• Experience in the housing association sector is desirable
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to statutory deadlines
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience supporting or managing colleagues is helpful but not essential
