Robertson Bell are supporting an organisation based in North London to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant on an initial six-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to join a supportive and well-structured finance team in a role offering broad exposure to management accounting and business partnering activities.
Reporting into a senior member of the finance team and working closely with Finance Business Partners, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the month-end process, assisting with the production of management accounts, and helping to provide financial insight to a range of stakeholders across the organisation.
The key duties of this role are as follows:
- Supporting the delivery of the monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting with the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Working alongside Finance Business Partners to support financial analysis and reporting for operational teams.
- Preparing variance analysis and commentary to explain movements against budget and forecast.
- Supporting stakeholders with financial queries and providing clear financial information where required.
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a management accounting or assistant management accountant role with similar responsibilities.
- A strong understanding of month-end processes and management reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to investigate and explain financial variances.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This organisation operates a hybrid working model, with two days per week in the office, and the remainder working remotely.
