Robertson Bell are proud to be exclusively partnering with this rapidly growing, East London based charity whilst they search for a Programme Finance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting into an experienced Finance Manager, you will hold a crucial role within the organisation and will be responsible for building successful working relationships with budget holders across the charity and institutional donors. Through the provision of financial support and advice, you will enable them to deliver financial targets.

The key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Take the lead on the financial management of all grants for your portfolio throughout their lifecycle.
  • Full responsibility for producing project-specific reports for donors according to their individual timelines.
  • Produce monthly management accounts for with supporting commentaries for review by the Head of Finance and the Senior Management Team.
  • Provide vital support to the Programmes Team in the development of bids for new funding, ensuring all financial overheads have been correctly accounted for.
  • Business partner with Project Managers and budget holders across the organisation to monitor their spends in line with project budgets, challenging attitudes and producing reforecasts as required.
  • Play a key role in the development of annual budgets for each project within your portfolio.

This role will suit someone who is experienced in donor finance and is looking to further their finance career whilst working for a rapidly growing, UK based charity. Although initially homebased, applicants must live within a commutable distance of their offices based in East London.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ideally, part qualified as an accountant.
  • Strong communication skills and first-class ability to provide an exceptional business partnering service to senior stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds.
  • A background working in the charity sector.
  • Experience working with and producing project reports for Donors.
