London | Hybrid working (2 days in office) | Up to £50,000 + 10% pension, private healthcare, 25 days leave + time off at Christmas

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an international development organisation making a tangible difference in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions. You’ll take ownership of financial management for a major, multi-million-dollar grant focused on climate adaptation and disaster resilience, ensuring strong financial control and compliance across complex, multi-country operations.

What you’ll do
• Lead the financial management and reporting of a high-value donor-funded project, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance throughout.
• Oversee project expenditure and reconciliations, maintaining robust financial records and monitoring budget performance.
• Produce detailed financial reports and forecasts, providing clear insight to support programme planning and decision-making.
• Identify variances and risks, offering practical recommendations to improve project delivery and value for money.
• Enhance internal systems and controls, refining tools and documentation to strengthen audit readiness and financial governance.
• Collaborate with programme and operational teams to ensure consistent financial understanding and compliance across all delivery partners.
• Support wider finance projects, including donor submissions and audits across multiple international programmes.

The ideal candidate will have
• Part-qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting foundation.
• Experience managing finances for restricted or grant-funded projects, ideally within the international development or not-for-profit space.
• Solid understanding of donor compliance and financial reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, prepare financial statements, and analyse performance within complex programmes.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships across teams and regions.
• Analytical, adaptable, and proactive, with a focus on process improvement and problem-solving.

About the organisation
This established non-profit organisation delivers impactful programmes in partnership with international stakeholders to promote long-term, sustainable development. With a mission centred on empowering communities and improving lives, they offer a collaborative culture, meaningful work, and strong organisational values.

You’ll join a supportive finance team in a role that combines purpose with professional challenge, backed by excellent benefits and hybrid flexibility.
