Interim Management Accountant

Are you a management accountant who enjoys turning numbers into insight rather than just closing the month? Do you like working closely with operational teams to understand what’s really driving performance? We’re supporting a large, complex organisation with a need to strengthen its management accounting capability. This Management Accountant role is on a 12m FTC and works closely with senior finance leaders and operational stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting, forecasting and analysis. The role can suit someone operating at Accountant or Senior Accountant level, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts, with clear variance analysis and meaningful commentary
• Coordinating budget and forecast cycles, ensuring inputs are understood, consistent and delivered to deadlines
• Reviewing and challenging financial submissions from across the business to ensure accuracy and focus on key drivers
• Delivering insightful analysis of actuals, forecasts and emerging trends, highlighting risks and opportunities
• Working collaboratively with finance and non-finance teams to align operational activity with the financial position
• Supporting continuous improvement of reporting, ensuring outputs are clear, consistent and decision-focused

This role offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of how financial and operational performance connect within a complex organisation. It’s well suited to someone who enjoys ownership, influence and improving the quality of information used by leaders. A hybrid working pattern is in place, with two days in the office in Hampshire required.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience in management accounting, budgeting and forecasting within a medium to large organisation
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain performance clearly to non-finance colleagues
• Confidence challenging assumptions and engaging constructively with stakeholders
• Advanced Excel skills and a disciplined approach to deadlines
