Are you looking to build hands-on experience in investment appraisal and capital projects? Do you want to build on your exposure to development projects and long-term investment decisions? Are you keen to learn from experienced colleagues in a supportive, analytical environment?

We’re working with a housing organisation that has an active development programme and is looking to appoint an Interim Finance Analyst – Capital Projects, on a 6m interim contract, to support its investment appraisal, modelling and financial analysis activity. This is a development-focused role, ideal for someone looking to build a strong foundation in development and investment finance within a purpose-led organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the preparation of investment appraisals and financial modelling for development schemes
  • Conduct contractor risk assessments and monitoring, including credit checks and a monthly contractor watch list report
  • Manage the appraisal system uploads and reconciliations between the accounting system and development program
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and cost allocations for the development program
  • Coordinate monthly cash flow forecast meetings with project managers
  • Maintain the retention schedule and reconciliations for development contracts

This role offers an excellent grounding in investment and development finance, with exposure to real projects and clear opportunities to develop your modelling, commercial awareness and stakeholder engagement skills. This role is primarily remote-based (within the UK) and requires only rare visits to the West Midlands office.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

  • Experience in finance, accounting, and financial analysis within the Development division of another Housing Association
  • Good Excel skills and an interest in financial modelling and analysis
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions and take on increasing responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to work
  • An interest in housing, development, property or investment environment.

If you’re looking to take your next step into an analytical role that offers learning, progression and exposure to meaningful investment decisions, apply now or get in touch for a confidential conversation.
