Robertson Bell are excited to be supporting a newly formed NHS organisation to recruit an interim Deputy Director of Financial Management on an initial six-month contract.

This is a critical role within the new organisations structure, which will direct and control the Financial Management function, including a sizeable team. The successful candidate will work predominantly remotely, with weekly/biweekly travel, dependent on requirements, into my clients Birmingham-based office.

Key responsibilities of the interim Deputy Director of Financial Management include:

  • Ensuring a comprehensive financial management service is provided to the CCG, enabling the organisations to plan, monitor and report on its financial resources.
  • Leading on and coordinating the monthly management accounting and external reporting process, including NHSEI financial submissions.
  • Playing a key part in the development of the organisations financial strategy.
  • Managing and motivating a sizeable team of qualified and part qualified accountants during a period of change.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have recent experience working in a similar role within the NHS Sector.
  • Demonstrate successful management of sizeable teams, ideally within a matrix structure.
  • Be a qualified accountant.
  • Possess first class communication skills and experience influencing senior stakeholders.
