Take the lead in strengthening financial oversight and driving confident decision-making for an international charity delivering urgent humanitarian support across the world.

Join a mission-led organisation responding to crises, empowering vulnerable communities, and running life-changing global programmes. As Finance Manager, you’ll bring order, clarity, and leadership to a fast-moving environment, ensuring funding is well managed, systems run smoothly, and financial information drives impact.

What you’ll gain:

  • Ownership and influence – lead day-to-day finance, manage a small team, and act as the key financial contact for the charity and its trading subsidiary.
  • Real variety – work across multiple income streams, international projects, audits, compliance, banking, payroll, and donor-funded programmes.
  • System transformation – improve reconciliations, reporting timeliness, and financial controls across a variety of financial and CRM systems.
  • International collaboration – partner with overseas finance teams, with occasional travel to global offices.
  • Career springboard – ideal experience for progressing into larger INGOs and global development organisations.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead all day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll, and cashflow management.
  • Produce quarterly reports for senior leadership and trustees, improving visibility and supporting strategic decisions.
  • Oversee the consolidation of international project finances, ensuring compliance with donor budgets and timelines.
  • Drive audit readiness and ensure submissions are delivered on time.
  • Strengthen financial systems, processes, and team capability, instilling discipline, improving efficiency, and embedding best practice.

What you’ll need:

  • A full professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CIPFA).
  • Strong experience across end-to-end financial operations, ideally in the charity or public sector.
  • Confidence leading and developing junior team members.
  • Excellent bookkeeping, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance skills.
  • The ability to bring structure, reliability, and clear communication to a busy finance function.
