Are you an experienced charity finance leader ready to shape the future of a mission-driven organisation? This is a rare opportunity to join a well-respected charity as Director of Finance, taking strategic ownership of the financial vision while ensuring robust, compliant and forward-looking financial stewardship. You'll work closely with the CEO, senior leadership team and the Board to drive long-term sustainability and maximise impact for the communities the charity serves.

What you'll do

- Lead the development and delivery of the organisation's financial strategy, ensuring long-term resilience.

- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and statutory reporting.

- Act as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, providing clear insight to support organisational decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with charity accounting standards, statutory obligations and regulatory requirements.

- Strengthen financial policies, systems and processes to support efficient and transparent operations.

- Provide clear, accessible financial reporting to the Board and Finance Committee.

- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and learning.

- Oversee financial aspects of fundraising, grant management, risk management and operational delivery.

What you'll need

- Significant experience operating at a senior level within a charity, with a strong understanding of charity finance, SORP and regulatory requirements.

- A recognised accountancy qualification.

- A track record of shaping financial strategy and advising senior leaders and trustees.

- Experience leading high-performing teams through change and growth.

- Strong technical skills across budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and cashflow management.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information for non-finance audiences.

- A collaborative approach and a genuine passion for working in the not-for-profit sector.
