Robertson Bell are exclusively partnering with this residential property developer in their search for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. Based in Worcestershire and under supportive leadership, this role will be responsible for the full financial management of one of the organisation’s key divisions.

The key duties of this Assistant Management Accountant role are as follows:

  • Take the lead on the production of the first draft of monthly management accounts, ensuring all journals are posted in a timely fashion.
  • Business partner with a variety of stakeholders at varying levels of seniority to investigate variances and challenge overspends, writing supporting commentaries as required.
  • Play a key role in the annual budget setting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Full responsibility for preparing all accruals and prepayments for your area of responsibility.
  • Manage an Accounts Assistant, providing hands on support and giving them opportunities to reach their full potential.
  • Build strong relationships and work collaboratively with non-financial stakeholders across the region to support on financial matters and improve understanding.

Furthermore, this role will officially be office-based, but with the potential to work from home for up to two days per week on offer.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Part-qualified or be actively studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification.
  • Experience of at least assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Strong Excel skills and excellent knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Ideally, a background working in the social housing sector, but this is by no means essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
